Full ID PMM Dart

Republic Oil Tool’s patented Full ID Thru-Tubing Dart provides mechanical protection during Permanent Magnet Motor (PMM) pull-out operations. The Thru-Tubing Dart creates a positive barrier in both directions and prevents the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) from spinning, ensuring power generation while the PMM-ESP undergoes maintenance. 

The dart is dropped and pumped through the tubing until it reaches the receptacle that is deployed above the discharge of the ESP. At this point, a pressure test is conducted to confirm the dart is securely in place. This approach is primarily used in conjunction with the External Sleeve Drain located above it. The tubing can then be pressurized to open the drain, preventing the need to retrieve the tubing while it’s wet. 

The Thru-Tubing Dart eliminates the need for a wireline-set plug and prevents the necessity to perforate the tubing, which could otherwise damage the power cable and motor lead. 

The Thru-Tubing Dart has been successfully deployed numerous times in the Permian Basin.
